    YOGA.....IT'S  MEANING  AND EFFECTS.

The word 'YOGA' is derived from the Sanskrit
language which means ' to join' or ' connect'.It
is an ancient art based on TANTRA  and  MANTRA..As such, Yoga is a process of self discovery which leads us to self realization. Yoga is a science...not a religion. Through yoga
we can connect to the highest truth  and awaken our conciousness.


Yoga practice includes  posture (asana)...breathing (pranayama) control of
subtle forces..(mudra) cleaning the body and mind (shat karma)....Yoga is  a process of self
discovery and it fascilitates health and balance of mind. This leads is to self mastery and self realization.



BENEFITS OF YOGA....

1) Yoga heals the scars of trauma. For people having trauma , life becomes unbearable . They are so devoid of hope , that they resort  to
suicide!! Yoga offers a vital seed of hope.

2) Yoga resets the  brain and nervous system .It puts the mind to relax and bury the past.



3) Chronic pain or muscular stretch  can be resolved to a great extent  by the low impact
activity and gentle  movements. It is a physical
therapy and  rehabilitation of injuries..Deep breathing strengthens the lung  muscles and the inhale/ exhale supplies  rich oxygen to your body.

4) Yoga benefits pegople with low esteem or the down syndrome.It controls cerebral palsy , spinal cord  injuries, cancer and asthma. People with depression can benefit by yoga..
a better choice  than alternative medicines


In these modern times of stress people normally face health issues. I feel spending just half hour each day will really boost your mind.
There is a huge park in front of my house....full of trees...plants....flowers....and birds tweeting
around....one can also see folks with their mats
clutched under their arms ....all ready for a yoga warm up...It's  so healthy to inhale the fresh air....Yoga tones up your body and mind.
Folks who are senior citizens take care and attempt the gentle movements..the bones become frail ....but do you realize??  Being in the sun will benefit you.....your intake of vitamin D will strengthen your bones!!!
