BLOOD PRESSURE AND IT'S EFFECTS
Your heart pumps blood to all parts of our body. The rate at which the heart pumps blood
is measured by the blood pressure machine and even by placing your thumb on the wrist
at the pressure point. The normal pressure is
120/80 . The top number is systolic (120) the lower is diastolic (80).Fluctuation in the above readings indicate high or low BP.
Fluctuations vary due to various factors like age, tension , body weight ,lifestyle , family history etc. BP is a common defect these days.
Most of us are loaded with all kinds of worries
wbich trigger blood pressure. If you have some fear or suddenly get excited , the heart gears up and you may feel the sudden throb...throb
in the chest or maybe the head..the blood pressure activates the thumping in your body.
SYMPTOMS OF HIGH BP..
You may have headaches, dizzy spells , bouts
of insomnia , discomfort in the chest area and
may feel shaky. Low BP causes weakness or
numbness or palpitations, sweat etc. High BP
is like a time bomb!!!! You realize it too late when the symptoms aggravate. To control your
BP , you need to control bad habits...which may not seem bad to you!!! Who likes to change???..but you have no choice.
THE FOLLOWING HABITS HAVE TO BE TAILORED:
1) Get your weight down...A big heavy body exerts more pressure on the heart. Your heart has to pump harder and that raises BP😣
2) Get going...take a walk , run, jog,.....you need more activity to tone your body.Excercise or
Yoga will certainly do wonders.🚸
3) Cut the salt: 🙄excess salt in your diet will result in fluid retention and high BP. Eat fresh
fruits and vegetables. Add lots of nuts and
grains.
4) Get your potassium ..low potassium results
in elevated sodium (salt) in cells . Potassium balances the salt in your body. Eat a banana
daily , fresh kiwi,apricots, prunes, spinach ,
oranges etc..Minimise alcohol, tobacco and
STRESS.
5) Age factor cannot be reversed..not much we
can do .Be gentle on your body and it will support you a life time.Be diciplined .Drink gallons of water as it washes out the toxins.
Water is needed for the blood circulation..so be hydrated always.😥
