HEALTHY LIFE.
We all are aging...time stands for no one !!
Old age creeps in, with creaking bones, stiff
muscles, weak eyesight, crumblimg back and on and on go our endless woes . But hey, you are not alone !! The aging factor is
bound to envelope each one of us. But cheer
up, there are ways to handle your routine step by step.
WATCH YOUR STEP...this is the most crucial point to remember. It's a common delima one gets to hear often. Senior citizens tend to fall easily and get hurt or break a bone. Why can't
this be prevented?? WATCH YOUR STEP !! Wear comfortable shoes and never tread on slippery floors. If you have to look around, halt
so you avoid treading on pots or holes. Your safety is foremost !!
While climbing stairs, hold on to side railings.
Stairs can be dicy!! One slip and there you go
Even escalators can be DANGEROUS . Try the elevators....which are safer.
Do not bend while lifting anything from the floor. Bend your knees and lift whatever you
need to pickup. Spinal bones tend to become brittle with age and therefore can cause problems and pain .
Whenever you have to change your pants or pyjamas...sit on a chair or stool and do the needful to avoid falling.
DO NOT suddenly get up !! Turn on your side,
relax, then get up. Avoid jerks and sudden impulses. You have all the time..so take it easy.
Do NOT over force defecation. Let it be natural.
No need to strain or put pressure on yourself.
Our body muscles are weak. No need to put load on them. Let nature act for you.
Eat a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables.
Eating a good diet is essential. If weakness sets in due to a poor diet...then you are asking for trouble..Being bed ridden can cause umpteen
health problems. Bed sores can set in and give you a mental agony. Even if you don't feel hungry, force yourself to drink soups or milk shakes. Even juices can be supplemented, but
nothing COLD. Fruits give fiber, which is very
important for us. A simple problem like constipation can cause agony. It should not be taken lightly.
Drink plenty of water. Drinking WARM water
can benefit you in numerous ways. Your food will digest well and chances of constipation
will not occur .
Go for long walks. It's good for your blood circulation. Breathe in the deep fresh air. Your lungs need energy. Don't tire yourself, enjoy the walks with your friends and relatives or partner . Form a good network of friends. Sit and chat and re-live your happy moments.
GEL with good friends!! It will boost your
confidence. If you isolate yourself, lonliness will engulf you. Walks daily will soak plenty of vitamin D into your bones. Yes, you need vitamin D for healthy bones!! Sit for half an hour in the early morning sun and be benifitted by sunlight.
Take supplements like vitamims and minerals.
As we age, shortage vitamins sets in because we eat less . Our body needs proteins,minerals
and vitamins for body repair and upgrading tissues etc. Vitamin A is required by our eyes.
Vitamin B12 is important for our nerves and skin tissues. Vitamim C is important to build our immune system....a healthy immunity will ward off illnesses.
Interact with children. Your grandchildren can
keep you absorbed and full of cheer. They are so innocent till the age of 6...till then they are
yours. After that they are brats. Enjoy with them till they are all yours!!.Their happiness is so infectious!! You will feel childlike again.
Wear your good clothes and don't keep them for a special day!! MAKE EACH DAY SPECIAL FOR YOURSELF!! TRAVEL IF YOU CAN AND ENJOY LIFE.ATTEND PARTIES AND ENTERTAIN FRIENDS...YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED IF YOU HAVE TRUE FRIENDS!! LIVE A ROYAL LIFE AND MINUS ALL THE NEGATIVITY IN YOURSELF...WE LIVE ONLY ONCE, SO MAKE THE BEST OF IT !!
