HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED COUGHING...WITH
CHOKING, WHEEZING, BREATHING  PROBLEM
AND TIGHTNESS IN THE CHEST. ??? I HAVE !!

This is ASTHMA..When the airways in both your lungs or the tiny air sacs called BRONCHI
get inflamed, they become narrower and very sensitive causing a long term lung disease called Asthma. Once the airways are inflamed
the tiniest irritant can trigger an attack...excess mucous is  produced which may further constrict your airways and cause wheezing with breathing difficulty and you feel the chest
area tightening...it's a horrible state and you seem to have no energy to speak or move even a step ahead!!!..Oxygen passes through the air sacs, hence you breathe freely..But if these sacs are full of mucus, how will the oxygen pass??
It is a critical situation which MUST be handled promptly .Delay in inhilation can cause fainting conditions and even death!!! If you have been diagnosed an asthma patient then follow self care to protect yourself from being
trapped in death-like situations.
Carry your inhaler in your bag ....it's a MUST.
You never know when the attack strikes you..A young student lost his life just because he could not reach his inhaler in his bag..the delay in searching cost him his life..Just a puff could have saved his life..An inhaler assists you to take a deep breath ...inhale the meteored dose of medicine and be easy to breathe !!! Your doctor will prescribe what medine or inhaler suits you best.

I started my asthma attacks while I was quite young. At first I could not understand what was happening to  me.. A sudden cough ( from the lungs....with a deep sound) then followed a whistle like irritating sound in the wind pipe. That would get me breathless ...after seeing a lung specialist ...I felt better and followed the same prescription each time I had an attack. This doc. had prescribed a steroid also..Never make the mistake of taking steroids over a long period of time!! They are harmful. Years later I visited another doc. who took my lung test and prescribed the Seroflo inhaler. One puff....and your lungs are easy to breathe.
It took me years to figure out what caused my attacks..Was it caused by food?? Maybe my pet dog's hair caused.?? After much hit and trial , it was confirmed that a newly painted room or house triggered my cough that led to an attack.
Another irritant was fungus....any place with moisture and molds would trigger my attacks...
So I became wiser and my attacks turned seldom. You must be able to gauge what causes your cough and avoid such encounters later.
Change of seasons also triggered my asthma. I learnt that Autumn was my sickness season. I learnt to stop eating or drinking  ice cold drinks or eats..had to switch over to hot tea or still better , hot coffee. That's it !!! Hot coffee helps instantly .

The air tubes become narrow due to mucus and restrict easy flow of oxygen. Coffee has been a real antitode as it acts instantly ...the tubes open up and air passage mucous clears up. Every human body is unique in its own way. What causes you allergy may  be fine for me. Mango season is in April each year. The fine mango flowers have a powderlike pollen.
This pollen causes allergy to many . Also dust and air pollution aggravate the asthma conditions.

There are many home remedies which you can easily avail in your home just off your kitchen shelf.
*Make a hot cup of coffee and sip it HOT...HOT!
you will feel comfortable and breathe easily. Caffeine acts as a strong antidote. The mucus shrinks and gives you instant relief.

* Take green tea or tea in which you can add ginger and honey also. Ginger is a natural herb which has many properties to dilate your air tubes.Honey is an ancient medicinal potion
with miraculous healing powers..It improves your  immune system.

* Eucalyptus oil helps in open clogged passages of the lungs and nose. Dab some oil on a handkerchief and smell it with deep breaths. You can also use tea tree oil. Your wheezing will subside.

*Honey/ Ginger/ Cinnamon powder will help to
dry up the phlegm which is the root cause of wheezing. Mix these 2 herbs with honey  in warm  water and sip many times.

* Reach out for vitamin D and C. Your immune system will improve. Vitamin is made by your system with the help of sunlight..sitting in the sun early morning will dry up the phlegm. Vitamin C is abundant in citrus fruits.

* Onions are good for asthmatics. They are pungent and help clear the airways. Include them in your salads.

The most beneficial exercises are YOGA . Do deep  breathing and pranayams..the lung muscles will become stronger and healthy. Learn to discipline your life style. Eat early  dinner which should be very light..Heavy meals trigger asthma attacks...Eat no  spices
and chillies.....Avoid fried or junk food.

Asthma is a form of allergy...you don't know what you are allergic to..Try  to study  your body pattern and you will reach a conclusion.
Are any seasons affecting you?  ...Is it the food or clothes that start your attack...If you are in a state of wheezing....just relax and breathe deeply. ...ask for  a cup of hot water and sip slowly..Once your breathing rate is normal then only proceed to whatever you had planned ..For most of the asthmatics, carrying
your own body seems a huge difficult task ...take it easy!!! Just take care of yourself and remember to carry your medicines wherever you go..Your care will see you through living many healthy years!!!!

SAY GOODBYE TO IT . .........
